PostSubject: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptySat Jul 18, 2015 2:09 am

"Hmmm, this looks like a nice enough place."  Janza found himself in front of a nondescript gate leading into a quite grounds.  This peace was deceptive of course, being the 2nd division and all.  The guards, or members in general couldn't be seen, but he could feel them.  A thrill of excitement rolled through his body.  He felt a live again, whole rather.  There wasn't anyone nearby to make him worry.

How long will it take for anybody to come greet me?

Try resting against the fountain over to the left.  It will drive them wild to see a guy randomly walk in and take a seat in such a mysteriiiiious place.

]i]Fun...

It didn't take long for the 2nd shinigami to surround the apparently carefree Janza.

"This is not the place for an academy student."  Presumably this voice belonged to one of the higher ranked seated shinigami judging by the power coming off of him.  Relative power that was.

Janza calmly answered, "I'm looking for a home.  And, somebody strong,"  he sighed and took a lazy breath.  "Testing my strength would be nice as well."

The man nodded his head toward somebody that either had to be an unseated shinigami or the lowest man on the seated totem pole.

"Nah, that guy is weak.  I want somebody strong.  Stronger than you."

Hopefully the captain would show up.  That was probably the only one in the 2nd that could conceivably match him.

((And now I would appreciate somebody to rp a captain level for me to fight so I can become captain.))

"If you are so sure of yourself, then I will fight you kid." Quiet, gravelly words drifted from deep shadows as common here as swords were for shinigami. It was a kindly looking shadow with a somewhat scary voice. A living shadow! "Before I start, what is your name, student?"

"Hmmm? Shouldn't the person asking introduce themselves first?"

"Know your place moron!" A new voice chimed in.

And then another new one. "You are talking to the vice-captain of our division. Bow your head when you talk to a superior shinigami!"

"Why?" Janza yawned quite loudly (for show), clearly disinterested.

"Apologize now!" He wasn't sure which said this, but was it a girl?

The vice-captain touched ground silently from a tree on the other side of the fountain. He was skilled at his craft obviously enough. Appearance reflected understanding. It followed logical beliefs or preconceived notions. Sleeves were short, his uniform slightly altered to allow better movement, with a solid gray hood covering his face. Each movement was smooth, calm, and without waste. "A dog needs to know when to shut its mouth. The weak can't blame the strong when they are so weak. They can't blame the strong if they get severely hurt or die when they are defiant."

Janza let out a sigh in a greatly exaggerated tone. "You talk too much."

"Since the academy failed so spectacularly, I feel like I should teach you. Prepare yourself." Janza's only response was an honest yawn.

Mr. Vice captain didn't waste any time, his sword whistled slightly as it bore down on the resting Janza. Many of the surrounding shinigami grinned at the impending doom of the poor fool. A handful, though, stifled gasps. All that changed when Janza raised one foot to block the sword at the hilt, while he spun with his back to the ground, catching the blade in the sandals that he decided to wear today, sending it flying into a close tree. This time dozens of bewildered whispers followed the vice captain as he retrieved his blade. "Tricks won't save y..."

Janza held two fingers against the back of the other man's neck. Less than a handful would have been able to follow his flash step. "Too weak. Somebody stronger please."

A low growl snuck past the mans lips as he turned his body slashing at the place were Janza stood. Where he HAD stood.

"Too slow." Janza buried his fist in the vice-captains stomach, with an almost lazy flick of his wrist. The momentum of the blow sent him flying into the surrounding group.

"Well then.."

Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptyTue Sep 29, 2015 6:16 am

"Sooo... boring.... sleepy," Janza fell back against the fountain with a lazy plop.  "So.... sleepy.... g'nite."  Janza stifled a yawn.

It really was odd that so many 2nd Division members were just standing there all around him.  It was funny, and really entertaining.  And it was oddly satisfying.  It felt like it had been too long since he could indulge his playful side.  Would he be doing this around a legitimate threat?  Probably, but probably for entirely different reasons.  Messing with people could be entertaining.  Messing with an opponent's perception of you, now that could throw anybody off balance and lead to an advantage.  Did he do it consciously?  No.  It was natural, instinctual even.  And his instinctual troublemaker style left the shinigami standing around confused and unsure what to do.  Regardless... they weren't doing anything.

I might actually fall asleep here.

Naps are nice.

Janza yawned and laughed at the same time in equal parts.  Weird.  What were they supposed to do?  There was a random person sleeping in the mysterious and scary 2nd Division.  A random person that was comfortable enough to lay down and shut his eyes around hostiles.  This WAS the 2nd.  They were the demons that would take away children in their sleep.  Some person, or many persons, would joke to their neighbor or friends that they were always being watched by them.  Somewhere else an old timer could be hear relating an hour long story about how some friend of a friend ran afoul of the assassins and was never seen again.  They were the monsters of stories, the stalker in the dark, fear personified.  An entire image of mystery and uncertainty was cultivated by them.  Keep people wondering about who they were or what they did, and you would have a major advantage over your opponents.

Eyes closed and they still did not move.  Whether out of fear, or uncertainty, each person was a veritable statue.  Janza was actually starting to get sleepy waiting for something to happen.  This went for three minutes or more.

Move!

Several people were approaching Janza with weapons in hand.  Some were even preparing to cast some kidou. Would they go for binding or destructive kidou?  Maybe they were ready to hand him his execution.

Distraction.

Were they setting up to form a barrier?

Distractions!

Janza was propelled into motion, and not a moment too soon, followed by a loud crack sound as a large crack formed in the fountain.  His feet rolled along the ground as he danced in and out of a handful of trees, followed by stacks of kindling everywhere he went.  It probably wasn't energy, judging by the sound of the trees as they were hit.  Some kind of blade or blades being controlled from a distance?  They couldn't be seen or heard, but he knew when they were coming.  The attacks weren't coming from the crowd.  But where?  After 30 seconds of dodging the blades, going off of movements and a feeling, he had a lock on the attacker.  Janza surreptitiously focused a bit of energy in his legs and took off, seemingly vanishing.

"Clever, really clever.  You masked your shikai with their energy and presence.  A bit coldblooded, but you knew I had no interest in killing them."  Both of Janza's blades were out and deflecting two blades.  Not much could be gathered by the captain's appearance other than height (roughly 5'6").  That, and 4 blades floating in the air around him/herself.  But... there were more.  Maybe four more?  Interesting.

But how did he know?

Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptyThu Oct 01, 2015 6:52 am

5 seconds.

That was the amount of time it took for either person to glare at and size the other combatant up... or down.  At first glance, from an outsiders perspective, nothing was gained.  But, in all honesty half a hundred thoughts went through the minds of either one ranging between temperament to gender to favored movements.  Janza was behind in that regard.  The captain opposite of him had the opportunity and time to watch him from a distance, seeing how he moved and how he talked to people.  If this person was as smart as Janza thought, he or she wouldn't pay too much attention to that.

On the other hand, the captain revealed very little, to most people that is.  First, the captain didn't rush in immediately, instead choosing patience.  Next, the person attacked stealthily using subordinates as a way to mask any approach.  He or she could attack from some distance.  And, most important of all, there had been little movement.  This individual WAS calculating and did not waste actions or reveal anything through voice such as age or gender.  Janza could have gained much from that info , something to exploit, but it didn't really matter.  What mattered?  His opponent was smart.

Janza was just starting to think about how immaculate his opponent's clothing was.  No dust, dirt or mud could be seen.  Everything looked to be inline, but that was a distraction itself before he felt an abrupt rise in energy.

Kidou!

Two fireballs the size of small cars bore down on him without warning leaving him little time to move.  That was, it would be little or too little for any weak person.  Janza wasn't weak.  What he did not expect, as he pushed off the ground toward a large tree to the side, was the followup lightning paralysis kidou that followed in quick succession casted as soon as the other kidou was launched.  Not wasting any time, Janza tossed his loosely fit academy uniform in front of him revealing his tattered clothing but blocking his opponent's vision of him.  Using HIS momentary distraction, he used the contact between the tree and his longer blade to lever around and up the tree while hiding his energy/presence as much as possible.

It was time to see how this one would react to a kidou combo.  A simple thought really as Janza rocketed up the far side of the tree launching into the air.  Janza tended to be a bit unorthodox in how he treated kidou or how he would cast it.  How often would somebody combine a shotgun kidou with a thunderwave cannon?  Was it a bit rude?  Probably.  Regardless, it would be fun to see how the captain would react to a wide spread of hundreds of little lightning balls bearing down on him from above.

Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptyTue Oct 06, 2015 9:17 am

Time slowed momentarily, and for an infinitesimal breath of a moment, seemingly stopped. One fighter in motion was gliding through the air, the other resembled the trees all around standing up straight and still. Little to no breeze traveled around the trees and through the air. Everything was relatively calm. That moment of calm and clarity was shattered an instant later as a very large tree fell in front of the approaching kidou. Smart. But it didn't end there. While absorbing the brunt of the attack, and rendering the electric component useless, the tree was launched into the air making a beeline for Janza's face. When his feet met the trunk, bits of the tree ranging from logs, shards and slivers shot out immediately. Janza danced across the surface of the tree, moving abruptly one way or another to avoid being impaled. Not only was that captain smart, patient, and able to make level-headed decisions at the heat of the moment, this person was also strong enough to "push" a large tree flying through the air.

Several swinging blades.

Several chunks of firewood.

Largely hidden or attacks from varied directions.

It was time for Janza to take some initiative. But the captain wasn't content to sit there and trade blows in a straight up sword fight. Many more tree fell, slide, tumbled, and shattered (the straight throwing of trees would be wasteful). He was trying to knock Janza off balance. Some move or switch would be thrown soon. Sooner or later at least. The answer was sooner. This time a large tree wasn't just used to mask many random attacks. No, this time the captain flash stepped around the edge of a tree moving close as it rushed toward the ground. Glints of sunlight bore down on Janza from three of the visible blades. Curiously, the man/woman held back one of them.

Why would you attack with those visible blades like that? The answer was simple and a bit obvious, they weren't the only attacks. But where would the hidden blades come from? Two of the visible blades crashed down from above while the third came slashing to the left. Janza blocked lightly angling the attacks down and to either side. Each attack had something extra behind it, extra weight behind it. Three extra to be exact... and that did not feel right. After two more attacks in the same manner, he was sure something was wrong. It was just too straight forward. None of the previous attacks were straightforward. What could it b...

Extra blade.

Instinct. Instinct and a lucky guess told him that he had to move. Small bits of his bandages floated in the air before falling to the ground in front of him. Those ones came from his neck right above his right shoulder. Such a tiny distance, so close. That attack came from a blind spot just a bit behind. Really close, it very nearly hit.

"You know, being the noble that I think you are," Janza said as he slashed from two different directions just to have both blocked, "You might want to send these people around us away so they don't see your perfect clothing covered in dirt. Or there is the off chance that you want to protect them and keep them safe from either of our attacks.

"Fair warning." Somehow Janza launched three different pieces of "firewood" at the torso of his opponent before falling back in a loosely ready stance with his blades held out to the side.

Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptyMon Oct 12, 2015 7:27 am

"If your leader isn't going to say anything... I will only warn you all once, if you don't get far away from us, your safety isn't guaranteed."  Everyone was dead silent.  He didn't want to kill them, plain and simple, but they stood in place as if they were glued to the ground.  "Move.  NOW!"

Everyone jumped back as if scalded by hot water.  Most, minus the captain, flinched at the unadulterated severity in his voice while simultaneously being suffocated by a harsh, unforgiving reiatsu.  Dozens of shinigami took flight lest they pass out from a power far beyond their reasoning.  What they didn't understand was that their captain restrained his or her power in their presence other than with a rare handful of his other subordinates.  It would render them useless otherwise.  This was beyond their experience.  It was beyond their knowledge.  They couldn't stand up to the reiatsu of captain class shinigami.

Janza's eyes were closed, his face and body was all but emotionless.  He was deadly serious for the first time in a very long time.  "Now then."  It was something that was both rare and common at the same time.  But, this was something he couldn't quite explain.

Perhaps he really did want a good fight.  Maybe something inside was still searching for a home or for answers after such a long time, but his opponent wasn't going to give him time to think about it.  With all of the 8 blades in front, the captain rushed while Janza's guard was seemingly down.  But... this wasn't the same Janza that traded attacks moments ago.  He was standing still one moment, before vanishing in a shunpo while dropping his energy.  His attack poured all of his weight behind him as he turned with a backhanded slash with a large amount of reiatsu at the captain's right flank.  Several of the blades blocked the attack, two of them in hand, but it didn't stop the momentum sending him or her back sailing toward a large tree.  The captain's feet met the trunk of a large tree before pushing off.  There was only one problem, Janza had vanished again, but the attacks did not stop.  About a dozen trees crashed down on his opponent.  All of the blades surrounding the mysterious leader of the 2nd were brought in close and charged with a massive amount of energy.  The trees were all but obliterated leaving twigs and splinters in most places.

Hundreds of newly made logs littered the ground around the two combatants.  Several hundreds flew about from all directions aimed at the captain.  A soft voice rose up calmly saying "sword graveyard."  Dust and debris obscured vision throughout the battlefield for a few seconds, but without seeing Janza realized the power of his opponents shikai.

It alters its reality and perception of it.

A good hit from that...

... would be troublesome.

After the dust settled, several dozen blades, maybe more, stuck out of the ground and surrounding trees.  Janza had to admit that he was impressed.  It confirmed the ability of the blades of the shikai and why Janza could sense the attacks from the feeling of distortion or irregularity, but the sheer scope of it was impressive.  Each one of those blades held that same power that could alter its own reality.  The idea of how much reiatsu went into it was a headache itself.  But, again, Janza wasn't left any time to consider it with continuous attacks from multiple directions.  The captain held multiple blades, and somehow could use all of them together.  And there were still some blades in the air striking down on Janza.

"Destructive Art 76: Hayate Gakuzento,"  Janza nearly shouted before being surrounded by a sphere of wind.

Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds Empty
PostSubject: Re: Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds   Nibantai Entrance and Front Grounds EmptyThu Oct 15, 2015 9:55 am

Are they all real?

Doesn't matter...

The wind kidou was a great defense against projectiles and many other attacks in general. Not a scratch landed on Janza. That was all well and good, but the blades floating in the air were probing for whatever. Were they actual projectiles, or was there something else behind it? Janza wasn't even sure if he could find it out or would even have time to. Maybe the blades in hand would be the hardest hitting, maybe. He was safe now regardless. But he didn't plan on leaving his safety to a simple "windwall".

"Good luck!" The words were like a breeze compared to the surrounding gale as it exploded outward. A small area served as the eye of the storm, everything else around it was chaos. The blades that were within arms reach were blasted away. Some stuck in trees. Others seemed to disappear. And that didn't even account for twigs, rocks, leaves, dirt and water. And Janza?

With the wind, and a bit of extra coaxing from Janza, dozens upon dozens of jagged sticks and logs flew straight at the captain forcing the captain to defend with a blade wall that obstructed vision. Janza followed right behind. As he moved, energy for kidou built up through his arms and blades. The byakurai/white lightning kidou that followed was channeled through both blades aimed directly for the chest. Before it struck, both bolts forked into three prongs with two on each aiming for the blades to the side. Frontal assaults were generally discouraged in this division. Normally that was the case, but every move was to throw Janza's opponent off balance. And, within striking distance, Janza took to the air spinning, blades and all landing behind.

"Not bad," an imperceptible smile rose on his face. In the blink of an eye, the two took off through the trees toward the main grounds.
