Kidou Range

This area of the Academy is another large area that deals entirely with binding and destruction spells. This area in large part resembles a gun range, static dummies are placed at the far end of the room with a barrier between them and the students at various intervals throughout the range. On the other side of the room, the layout is the same however the dummies move around on a series of conveyor belts of varying speed and direction.

Fighting is not encouraged here do the volatility of kidou and the training of nearby students.

((Ok given passed experience with using these smaller classes you can only attend 2 per week, i suggest attending the beginner ones first if you haven't already because some stuff requires you to have done them to go onto the next ones. For instance, blue fire fall requires you to have learned Red flame cannon etc. Also its 2 because you will have 2 skills that will be higher than the other two so think about what those would be.))

Lark rested against one of the posts of the hut that backed onto the course. He smiled and nodded to each of the students as they entered and walked around to the main range.
The range was a long walled stretch of ground different hight targets on poles lined the wall facing the hut and two students in a black lined student uniform stood either end of the wall holding more poles with targets on.

Once all had passed him he walked in and closed the gate behind turning the sign that stated Kidou was in use. Standing in front of the students he grinned and gestured to the area.

“I'm sure by now you are all used to the Academy grounds and what goes on here. If you haven't been here before this is the Kidou range, its mainly used for lessons though but like the obstacle course if it is not in use you are all welcome to use it.”

He gave them all a slight bow and then pulled out the beginners guide to Kidou book.

“You should all have one of these, given to you with your Bokken and gi when you entered the academy... I know i know you had forgotten about it or misplaced it or just plain weren't bothered about it, I was a student once myself you know.” Placing the book down he pulled his twin Zanpakutou out of his uniform and placed them with the book. Kidou is like all forms of martial arts. Although it is ranged in nature you need to be able to use it in the heat of battle whilst moving and thinking of your next move just like with a weapon, for now though we'll stick with stationary targets. I'll give you some further learning tips for outside the training ground after the practical lesson.”

Walking to the side he picked up a few small round tables and placed them just inside the hut and put jugs of water and cups atop each before walking back out.

“Its hot out and Kidou requires reiatsu so you may tire. Please help yourselves to drinks as you need them. Now lets get to the fun part of making things go bang.”

He smiled and turned to face the course.

“Destructive Art #4: White Lightning” Raising a hand white Reiatsu gathered around it and with a diagonal slash toward the target the white concentrated into his finger and burst forth in a beam of white with static like discharges around it. The target did not move but a large hole filled its center and through it could be seen a hole through the wall behind.

“Ah over did it again.”

He chuckled and blew on his finger, white crackles of energy running over it.

“Now watch and listen to this next one very carefully. O Lord, mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of man, truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! Destructive Art #31: Red Flame Cannon"

As he said it he held out his hand palm flat toward the target, thumb slightly tucked in and arm fully extended. He forced his Reiatsu into the center of his palm, at the end of the chant a ball of red crackling energy erupted smashing into the already hollowed target completely obliterating it, the pole falling to the floor from the blast.

“Firstly to begin with i suggest you hold your firing wrist with your other hand until you are used to the recoil and can aim properly. Now your also wondering, 'how can saying all that in the middle of a fight possibly be useful?' Well Kidou users can run really fast.”


He smiled and held his hand palm flat out toward a different target immediately in a second a ball of red energy shot forth destroying a second target.

“When you have the reiatsu and mastered the spell you can call it forth more from feeling i suppose... but Kidou users really can run fast. Future techniques can be channeled through your Zanpakutou or other weapon allowing for interesting styles of fighting as well as the ability to imbue body parts or weapons with Kidou allowing a punch to have an extra impact or to be able to give off a certain something, if you like its a far more advanced style of what you have been doing with your reiatsu. Now you should all get your books out and read what it says in there, then just practice away. I will sit in the hut and pour water for who ever wants some or answer any questions for as long as i can.”

Bowing slightly he walked into the hut. The two students hurried across and picked up the two broken targets before replacing them and scurrying back to the sides.

“Oh yes sorry before i forget.”

He walked back out stopping everyone,

“A quick training you can do for white lightning is throw cups in the air and shoot them or get a friend to throw them and you can do the other one as well if he waits for you to finish the chant.”

Turning he walked back into the hut and sat down.

((you can learn a kidou immediately if its low of medium-low level but it always takes about 2 RL days to properly master it. To start with it will be extremely weak and draining))

After a quick shower, a trip to the cafeteria and a long nap. Takara was feeling refreshed enough to go to her next class. This one regarding her newly realized spiritual energy. Kidou was something that had always sparked her interest, and now as a good a time as any to start learning more than a few. She knew that beyond the academy, even more intresting arts could be learned given time. So now would be the best time to familiarize her self with its use.

Hado were destruction spells, meant to damage or even kill an enemy. The first two taught in this seminar was White lightening and Red Flame cannon, a mid tier kidou technique. Both would prove useful given enough time to train them.

The lecture was informative enough. From what she gathered, kidouwas largely a touch and go subject, not clearly defined due to its nature as energy. Even White lightening had more of a feel to it rather than a complex instruction.

Essentially kidou came down to three things. Forcing the energy to a specific point in the body, molding it by speaking an incantation, and then releasing it. There were no clear guidelines on how to do this, as long as those requirements were met.

Walking over to a range, she stopped for a second to consider what the instructor said, her first few attempts wouldn't go well in all likelihood, but she could use these to inform herself on what she needed to do better.

Holding her hand out and pointing at the target, she focused her reiryoku into her fingers. A peculiar feeling starting to emanate out through her hand as the kidou started to take form. A small light grew from her fingertip and sparks began to fly. All in all, a simple beginning.

"Hadou #4 Byakurai."

Suddenly, the energy was released from her fingers, the feeling disappeared as a beam of white light took off for the target, hitting it right in the abdomen in the spot she had took aim at. It left a small burn mark but nothing more, and nothing like the instructor.

"Interesting..."

Takara took note of the feeling, it was as if she had just completed a rigorous exercise, she wasn't physically tired, but there was a distinct feeling as if she had done something that had left her drained of energy.

Time would tell on how successful this exercise would be, but this was a good start nonetheless.

"Yup this is the correct place. Eh the Kido Range... I guess the Kido book wasn't incorrect about to lesson."Normally Ryu wouldn't be on time but for some reason he was eager to come to class. Due to his grandfather who could do some pretty unique stuff using these so called Kido spell. From what he had learn there was three type of spell they were,Bakudo,Hado,and Kado. The first is to bind your target the next used overwhelming force the last is to heal yourself. Ryu had wanted to learn a binding spell but it seems like today wasn't his lucky day.


But he had guess something is better then nothing. He was a few feet from Takura kun he had be playing attention to the lesson and decide He would aim for the Hado spell the other one he can learn later. He had watch Lark perform the technique . Then smirk he knew Lark was showing off but he couldn't allow him to show him up. Ryu took a step forward he had raise his right hand. As he had aim for a training dummy he begin to gather reiryoku into the tip of his index finger soon after sparks and static begin to fly. He then said,"Hadou #4 Byakurai."

A small stream of electric shot out his index finger it crash straight into the dummy . Leaving a small hole in the center of the chest. Ryu grunted then said," Hehe fhoo this going to be interesting."

A few extra shots of the Kidou, and Takara felt right on track. The target was littered with holes, and the scorch marks on the back wall that protected the academy from the rest of the practitioners.

Lowering her fingers, she sighed aloud. A hand ruffling through her white hair and across her brow line. She was sweating a bit from the exertion of firing the kidou off repeatedly, but she still had much she wanted to learn. Namely, the second kidou, Red flame Cannon.

Where White lightening was a kidou that was meant to attack a singular target, Red flame cannon had a larger area of effect. Akin to the difference between a bullet and a grenade so to speak. This kidou was of a significantly higher level, but one that was also offered in the beginners course. That being said, with the instructors watchful eye and instruction, that would make this kidou much easier to learn at the moment.

Removing her hand from her face, she again pointed at her target. She went through the same process once again, letting her reiryoku flow into her outstretched hand and again feeling the tingling sensation as the spiritual energy began its transformation into kidou energy.

"O Lord, mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of man, truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! Destructive Art #31: Red Flame Cannon"

With the words spoken, a red orb appeared beyond her palm, and shot out as she ended the incantation. The recoil catching her off guard and sending her arm high over her shoulder. She had forgot to brace herself when firing the kidou, so this would prove a painful reminded when she tried to move the arm again.

The orb streaked towards the target, hitting low where the targets legs would have been. A small explosion took place, nothing more than a flare up of fire at its base more than anything else. Once again, mastering this kidou would take quite a bit of practice, though she was no where near finished trying yet.

Taking a better stance once more, and bracing her extended arm with her free hand. She readied her self to try again.

Ryu begin to get tire slightly he have been trying to master the first Hado. His wooden dummy look like it had bullet holes in sketch in it. Most of the small holes had look like a well place hits. Ryu was a bit tired due to his over uses of the Kido Spell now he was comfortable with the level of how he used it. He fall directly into the ground as he took a well needed break after all he was a bit tired. He had watch the female shingami determination never wavering that made him want to continue his training even more.

He knew the next Kido spell he will be using is a bit stronger then Hado #4 but that didn't stop him from learning it if not level the master. After all he strife to be a powerful shingami and Ryu had believe that all this is required to be that. Ryu was breathe heavy but he will soon gather the strength to to finish up his Kido training if not he would die tying.

As Ryu had regain his strength due to his little break he had took earlier. Now it was time for him to finish up this kido lesson. Wiping the sweat from his foreheads Ryu had stood up taking up the stance as previously instructed by the dual sword shingami. That is of course until he get use to the recoil then he can fire it without the current hassle of proper stance.

Ryu grin as he begin the chant. He said,"O Lord, mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of man, truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws! Destructive Art #31: Red Flame Cannon." Lifting up his right hand then placing the palm flat toward the dummy, his thumb slightly tucked in and arm fully extended. Ryu had focus his dark red reiastu into the center of his palm, at the end of the chant a ball of red crackling energy erupted smashing into the already shot up dummy.

Ryu arms had jolt back due to the recoil damage but he shall get uses to it in due time. Smoke came from his hands As he examine the dummy it seems to be without a head. He grin slightly then ready himself for training once more he already learn Hado four now it was time to master this Kido the perhaps go over to the Zanjutsu training field.

Takara's last attempt at Hadou #33 Red flame Cannon had been satisfactory, the target was now alight with fire and attendants were taking place to remove the burning dummy and replace it for the next student. It hadn't been flashy, nor had it been devastatingly effective, but it did exactly what it was meant to do.

The Kidou lessons had taken a great deal of time, yet they were rewarding nonetheless. What use was a body that had been trained to fight if  the mind had been left to wander? It was something that she was starting to understand more and more as time passed by in this Academy. She could focus on training her body more in the future, but the important thing was to increase he capacity to know and understand in which circumstances a fight was necessary or meaningful.

Grabbing a towel from a rack located by her stall, she wiped down her face and neck. The towel coming away damp from the amount of sweat she had produced simply focusing on producing the two kidou's in such a short amount of time. Placing the towel back into a washing bin located just near the rack. Turning she began to make her way out of the range.

Passing by a stall, Takara stopped momentarily to look at another practioner, this time a young girl  focusing on obstruction kidou. Most students opted for the Destruction kidou lesson, for one it was more exciting. In Takara's case, it was the first class she had heard over the  P.A system. She had every intention on learning every kidou that was offered here at the Academy, so a sneak peak wouldn't be to far out of the question for her.

She sat down on a bench located behind the brown haired girl, Crossing her arms and legs as she observed her working through the kidou. Takara figured she was just a bit older than her, a few years in appearance or so. Her long brown air was tied into a bun which occasionally helped to show her face when she made little movements. Her eyes were a bit strange in Takara's opinion, the look of someone who may or may not have slept enough over the past few days, and the golden color of her iris's was interesting to say the least.

Takara had an interesting look about her as well, white hair accompanied by silver-gray eyes, elongated ears and a dark complexion. She drew some strange looks most of the time, but she had learned to tune that out. She knew she looked different, and it was only natural to look.

Her hair was cut short, reaching to mid neck length while two long braids trailed behind her to her lower back. Both tied with black thread. Outside of her red academy uniform, she wore a gigantic red scarf, one that wrapped around her neck several times snaking down to her butt. It held a sentimental value to Takara, something that reminded her of the family she had left to pursue this opportunity. IT also made a comfortable neck and chin rest on occasion.

Today, she tucked her chin down into its folds. essentially hiding the lower part of her face within the red scarf. She tried to remain inconspicuous, she didn't want to creep out the girl she was watching or interrupt her train on thought when it came to her training. However, if one was attentive enough, she would be easy enough to spot.

Ryu had blast that dummy to he'll across the Kido training dummy was many holes and small holes throughout out it body. Those it wasn't His attention to learn these Kido he had always finish up what he learn. Ryu quickly grab the smash up dummy,and replace it with a new one which was along the wall. To be honest Ryu wasn't worry about the other students in the area . Right now he was focus on resting up his body and leaving the area. Ryu had regain most of his strength now it was time to make his exist of the Kido Range.

Ryu had stood up to his maximum size as he made his exist out the area heading to either the library or Zanjutsu training field .
He had pass by takura as well as the new comer he had smirk as he made no attempts to start a conversation which them he exist the area as quickly as h came. With two new Kido on his belt.

Takara had watched the entire period of training, taking mental notes on the diffrences between Destruction and Obstruction kidou. While similar when taken for what they were, Kidou, they seemed to have two distinct sets of approach. On one hand, Destruction kidou was meant only to last for a few seconds while obstruction kidou was something that needed to be maintained over a period of time. IT gave her something to think about while she waited for the next classes to be offered.

Takara stood and brushed herself off, placing her hands on her hips and leaning from right to left, popping a few vertebrae in her back. It was more of a habit than anything, but one that she thought felt good after sitting for a long period of time.

Walking over to the stall with the girl, she waited just outside of the stall as to not crowd the young woman while she doted over her notes.

"That looks more difficult than I had originally thought." Takara said, verbally announcing her presence.

"No wonder you don't see many people practicing it, Destruction is easier and a bit more flashy."

Hurs strolled into the kidou hut looking around for the class. It seemed as if everyone was gathered around a hut to hear a little lecture on how to shoot fireballs and lightning out of hands. Hurs whipped out his handy dandy kidou textbook and turned to the appropriate pages. He stepped up to the kidou range once it was time to let loose all of that pent up energy he had from sucking at everything else so far. He focused and gathered his reiatsu. He reached out for everything around him and felt the ominous projection of self into the world, as if his body had grown two inches in every direction.


"Destructive Art #4: White Lightning!"


A sudden blast of electric energy surged from his finger and pierced the ground short of the target. With a laugh, Hurs continued and fired three more before feeling a bit exhausted. He decided to skip the flame cannon kidou when he was forced to frown at the suggestion that one had to be fast to use kidou. If that was the case it would be best to avoid those kinds of techniques.

"Sweet. Well, time to get out of here."

With that, he left the kidou range, drinking a cup of water, amazingly still having energy for some more training.

Pluto was working as hard as ever, doing his best to be able to complete his training. He remained as humble as ever, and never one to lose focus. He wanted to ensure that everything went according to plan. He was calculating and very maticulous in the things he did. Pluto will sometimes employ a pragmatic approach to certain things. And at times his way of doing things can be ever so deceptive. For instance he had other motives when it comes to Izanami. He truly believed that she held the key to a few things. This includes his fractured memories and lack of knowledge of self. Pushing on with his training, Pluto started off with the incantation once more. And before you knew it the name of the spell was announced. "Bakudo the second, Hikari no Mekurumeku". The man uttered while lifting his left hand. His palms fully open with fingers stretched apart. A blinding flash enveloped the targeted area and for the first time Pluto was actually satisfied with his progress. The man panting a little, now ready to give the other side of spell some attention. Pluto shifted his weight ever so slightly while focusing on the task at hand. The Shinigami started off with the incantation once more. Each word was recited with a great deal of pleasure. He was almost gleeful about the whole thing. Pluto seemed excited about his current prospects, and at the same time not wanting to overdo anything at all. Meanwhile his reiatsu was channeled into his right hand. And with a great deal of focus, his Reiatsu converted into Kido energy. "Destructive Art 13; Sapphire Fist". The man announced before deciding to thrust his right hand forward. And with that a massive blue fist of energy shot outward from Pluto. The kido travelled speedily across frkm Pluto and collided with the dummy. And if it was a real live person, the Shinigami suspect there would have been a considerable amount of damage. The man panted before releasing a sigh of relief. His hand rising upward to wipe the sweat from his brow. The mission was a success and he knew that all too well. And so the Shinigami decided to leave the area and join the little gathering of fellow students.

She'd taken to a side on her own, eyes reading over the Kidou guide her face was buried in as she tried desperately to keep her mind out of poor thoughts of herself. Her own self-worth had seemingly dropped inexplicably. Regardless, she was focused on her lesson through and through, yet chose not to truly begin her practice until Jin had moved just a little bit more ways away while she whispered the incantations without putting into any of her own energy into the incantation at first. With a soft sigh, she had set her eyes on two spells in particular in this case. The first was the one that she was currently reciting at this moment, eyes trained on the dummy in front of her that was raised up by a rope. ...The Binding Art 10...

Everlasting Grudge?

It seemed appropriate to learn in her mood, and with it came her first attempt as she pointed towards the noosed dummy and recited the words in little more than a whisper.
"You weigh the souls of humanity, Judicator, and separate the just from the wicked. None shall escape from justice. Binding Art Number Ten, Everlasting Grudge."

A spark of energy, but it just...didn't come with that mere incantation. Was it because she wasn't in the right state of mind for it in this particular moment?...A shake of the head, and Izanami refocused her attention on the dummy -- but it was not a dummy she saw. Instead, it was a man. A man with a face that held no eyes or nose, no ears or distinguishing features to speak to an identity. It was a man that forced an explicit anger from her body towards for some unshakable reason. And it was the cause of her voice to raise in that calm anger once more.

"You weigh the souls of humanity, Judicator, and separate the just from the wicked. None shall escape from justice. Binding Art Number Ten, Everlasting Grudge."

A second spark, and this one made the rope of the dummy noticeably strain to support its weight without explanation to the sudden increase. ...Was that what she had been looking for?...A tilt of the head and Izanami watched at the rope slowly thinned. ...Once more, perhaps. Once more, with an intent focus on making this work...The reworking of her attention on that dummy came as she clicked her tongue and that long, slender finger pointed at him in particular. Let's see how harshly she could force this magic to work now, see if she could master it appropriately to keep people from running away from her...

"You weigh the souls of humanity, Judicator, and separate the just from the wicked. None shall escape from justice. Binding Art Number Ten, Everlasting Grudge!"

The exclaimed call and incantation of the spell did it. With her Binding Art worked as effectively as she had wished: The dummy that was hung up promptly slammed to the ground -- rope broken and the practice target collapsed upon itself to the point that indentions upon the ground where it had fallen hinted towards its sudden weight-gain. ...Ah. Looks like she'd done it right. And wasn't that nice?...

On to the next Kidou, she supposed.

Let's see now...Destruction Kidou. She had her eye on one in particular, and that was- ...Well, practice would have to wait unfortunately. Her mind reeled back in the announcement that had been made over the com while on her way here -- she was going to be late if she didn't get out and get her ass to the training occurring today. A soft groan led to Izanami stepping away from her cornered spot of practice and rubbing the back of her neck before she took off running out of the Kidou Range.

Well, look at that. The Hohou class was about to pay off for all of her running.
