Academy training excercise

Hurs nodded intently at Hana's short bio.

"I must disagree that sounds like quite the excellent background."

He said with a laugh. He decided to expound upon what he meant before he sounded contrarian. He kept his voice down in anticipation of Hideo speaking up at any moment but his words started to continue in a confident rhythm as if he was starting a speech,

"What I mean is, outside of the over-protective family, those skills may prove to be quite useful for you. A lot of people in Rukongai haven't been taught how to live for themselves or basic skills. There's no family structure and very little security. I think there is a bit too much focus on THE BIG PICTURE and not a lot of focus on the details. Sure, the world is in balance great, but is it really what we want where shinigami are literally the only people keeping things intact? We need to encourage outside help, new organizations such as what the human world has that tackle all of the other problems we have outside of fighting hollows and criminals. Heck, maybe there needs to be a seperate police force made up of citizens. It'd take a load off of a lot of shinigami's minds not having to wonder if they're part of the problem or not if there are other people pitching in.

I can already tell you're much more passionate than an old dog like me -at least that's how I feel right now-"

He stopped himself. The fact that he forgot to introduce himself kind of contradicted what he just said about not having that much passion.

"Wow, getting a head of myself, haha. Name's Hurs Ulrich, pleasure to meet you. And you are?"

The night sky was a random dance between wispy clouds and the stars, competing for attention. A cool breeze put everything in motion and made the night come to life carrying with it the sounds and smells of city night life. Janza made his way five stories up to the top of the building he was resting against, with the aid of inconsistent reishi particles. His feet created an audible fsssssh sound as they met the rooftop. His eyes were lost in the quiet glory of the unassuming moon. An overwhelming and deep longing rushed up from the pit of his stomach to his head, feet, arms and heart. But there was something he loved about it. Words couldn't adequately describe it. It was simply beautiful, almost a stark contrast to the situation below. He couldn't help laughing about the beauty within chaos.

I suppose it's about time to return to earth and join the fun. The ground below really was chaos complete with an instructor sending one guy through a window, another guy following him through the window, and another guy blasting to the top of a skyscraper before crashing down to the ground knee first. During the show the instructor abruptly left mid lecture. It wasn't Janza's place to judge a person with infinitely more experience in teaching students, but it struck him as odd that he would leave a group of complete foreigners alone in a strange place. It was evident by the antics and and carefree conversations that most of his fellow students didn't care. This newfound freedom was far too much fun. That is, everyone but one person.

Anira was it? The cat-like eyes were orbs of golden panic searching from person to person for anything sense of acknowledgement of the source of discomfort. And he understood. Why else would a third seat feel the need to leave his charges to chase after one of his comrades? He couldn't be sure of the grating feeling against his heart and lungs, but it was very likely a hollow to command such attention.

Instead of creating invisible stairs, or jumping down to the ground in a way that would frighten a skittish animal, Janza pulled the reishi together just enough to create a slide. Why not have a little fun? He came to a stop two or three arm lengths away from the girl.

"It's probably somewhere in that direction." His arm pointed vaguely in the direction that Hideo left. "But I wouldn't make too big of a deal about it. All it would take would be one tiny spark to set off that powder keg."


This location, this group, this situation, everything left Janza feeling vulnerable. They were figuratively and literally in the dark. It was infuriating to be so weak. Only starvation had left Janza like this in known memory.  

"Oh, my bad. I'm Janza." He held out his hand to shake.

Ryu D. Arc was enjoying his little training excerise those he didn't let down his guard. He had just finish up the learning of the Reiastu platform. Those it took him several minutes to balance the reiastu and imagine the step.  Not to mention the count less following attempts due to trying to learn the technique. He was pretty sure that just about everyone here dislike him. But that couldn't be help after all that is a part of life. 


He had direct his attention to the city then decided it would be best to hunt the hollow himself. He took off in a burst of speed heading for the roof aka high ground he had begin to located the weakest hollow near by. So he can defeat it on his own after all he could really use the experience.

Jack's eyea widened comically as Takezo was suddenly rushing at him as though he had been in somw kind of canon and fired upon the storefront. Jack ducked down to the floor as the front of the building imploded from the force causing rubble to rain down upon the youngstudent. It was odd though, how the weight of the assorted building marterials crashing down upon him left HJack feeling more... underwhelmed than anything. He had been expecting a few broken bones if nothing else and yet he was able to pick himself up through the rubble with relative ease.

"Well aren't we the resilient sort."

Jack tossed a beam off of Takezo, though from how he personally felt it was likely more a gesture of friendship than any real help. He seriously doubted that his comrade would have sustained so much as a hair out of place from the attack.

Jack looked back to the street to see the others starting to get the air walking down. Jack walked away from the destroyed building feeling a pang of sympathy for the guy whose business would be considerably set back all to prove a point about how they took damage. Jack scribbled in his notebook again, taking down the address and name of the business. If the shinigami didn't care about the people they were slated to protect, why bother protecting them at all?

Jack remained more or less quiet for now, taking his first step into the air. He hovered a few inches off of the ground. His footing was surprisingly solid considering he was standing upon a thin veil of charged spiritual particles beneath his sandals. The others had mixed reactions to being suddenly able to fly. Hurs took tp the sky while another student went to look in a dumpster it seemed. Jack took a walk around the block, his feet not touching the ground, getting used to the f feeling. He didn't want to get too high up and suddenly fall, though he doubted it would do anything more than give him a fright for a moment.

"Sometimes being dead takes all of the fun out of life..."

Jack let himself ascend to a nearby rooftop, leaping across a wide street towards another building. He didn't quite jump far enough though, landing on the air itself jist a few steps away from the ledge he was aiming for. Jack chuckled and took a drink from his flask as he stepped onto the building ledge.

"Anticlimactic end to a magnificent leap for sure haha"

Jack tucked the flask in his shihakusho and surveyed his environment for now.

Two... no three. Somehow their group had three elusive and rare nobles with them tonight. For a group with nine or so students total (from what he could see), they had three. Not everyone was as self important as the the loud one. But, they were different... didn't have that same dirty feel. That wasn't a problem really. People came from all walks. It was just interesting. How many times had Janza seen a noble in the past? (As many as he saw in one night here.)

When had that...

Janza shook his head of all the cloudy thoughts crowding up for attention and trying to push through. There was no time for that. A nagging urge, born from countless brushes with near death, pulled at the corner of his mind. His blood was pumping, with shorter breaths. This was nothing new. It was akin to a fight or flight response, or even self preservation couple with survival. Janza inhaled deeply... held it... and slowly breathed out.

It helped. Natural reactions to do this that or whatever, that was all Janza had ever known. Instinct is what kept him alive, and that was probably the same for Anira to some extent. So, what was going on? A group of academy students went to the human world accompanied by a group of shinigami. Their leader was a 3rd seat in the 12th division. The nameless ones immediately left in different directions. After a short lesson, the 3rd seat left in the direction of one of the previous guys. Other than that, what did they know? They only knew where they were sort of. They were supposed to be learning something

"That is... a smart guy there." The muscles in his arm tensed for a momentary lapse after the show that the braggart noble gave them. "We don't even know why we are hear, and he runs off like a maniac. I doubt that they would have us fight real hollows right now anyway." The last was more of a question to himself than a statement.

Janza took another deep, measured breath. "Why do you think we are here anyway?"

Aint no mountain high enough to stop me from getting to you baby. That is how Pluto was feeling while simply levitating about a foot or so off the ground. The man suddenly came to a stop, pausing as if something afoot. His head rotated while his eyes flashes from side to side. The man was surveying the area, keeping a close eye on things. Pluto had began to wonder what the 12th Division members was up to at this point. The man with crimson eyes raised his head towarfs the heavens. His eyes glowed, and should anyone be concerned with Hollows. They simply needed to look at Pluto's eyes to get an idea. The Shinigami was now taking steps higher and higher.

It did come as second nature to the man, moving up and up now. Pluto didn't seem to have a care in the world. And when he was high enough, the man came to a stop. He soon folded his arms, he was relaxed. Pluto took his time to watch over the city. Seeing what was going on around him. The cool breeze from up high was most welcoming. His hair danced about in the breeze that was strong enough to carry the strands all at once. The moment was almost perfect for the man currently trying to find himself now. The nostalgia of the whole thing was perhaps what was missing.

Pluto felt as if he was taking steps and edging closer to what was before not so long ago. He was determined to regain what was taken from him. Or was it that he needed to unseal the part of his soul currently in bondage? Whatever it was he was being careful about it. The man thought it best not to alarm too many folks around. Anira already has her suspicions about the man. Even Pluto was suspicious and equally curious about himself. For now though he decided to take it one step at a time. No rush, right?

Jack approached Janza as he made the a full round around the block. The laid back gentlemanly fellow stood next to Janza with an almost bored air about him. Truth be told, Janza had raised quite the valid question.

"Why indeed? They told us that only spiritual beings can cause us any real damage in this realm, showed us how to air walk, and then ran off like they had more important things to do... It reeks of a set up... A controlled test environment and the examiners have gone to their posts. I reckon the exam will begin soon enough."

Jack crossed his arms and leaned his back against a nearby wall. He was disappointed in a few of his comrades for not keeping cool, but then again, it was the first time some of those noble lads had ever taken in real air.

"You dishonor your house by being loud, brash, and inciting panic in your comrades there boy. A real leader can stay calm to keep his fellow squad members calm. If you're already flinching at shadows, then we are more likely to be burdened by you than follow your half-hearted commands."

Jack tried to speak eloquently to the Arc man and calm his tits a little. After all, even as senior students, the weakest of hollows would have no trouble tearing their entire little, meekly trained squad apart. The fact that they were so hyped to fight evil personified left Jack a bit unnerved by his own comrades.

  A solitary man with a chain on his chest sat in an alleyway while he saw a school girl run quickly past him. At first, he didn't take notice but he then realized that she was like him too. She must have come from a different side of the town, which was strange because people like him usually stayed in one spot. The moment the glancing idea of her being chased by someone or something crossed his mind a dark cloak suddenly flew overhead and he lost consciousness.

Hideo flash stepped in front of the students, displaying an incomprehensible amount of speed to all those gathered. Two shinigami to his left and right sides appeared as well releasing their captors from the cloaks.

"We got two live ones everyone! Gather round!"

Hideo briskly rubbed his hands together as the girl and man fell to their knees, underneath a heightened spiritual pressure Hideo was emitting. His countenance had changed to one of an obsessive curiosity.

"This is one way to capture scared plus souls, the souls wandering the Earth you must bury before these..."

He said while yanking at their soul chains with both hands.

"..erode away completely."

He continued with a spin on a heel and continued with a hand gesture.

"They might get scared for some reasons , so use your reiatsu when you can to slow them down or binding kidou for the most rebellious ones. Makes it a lot easier! Now here is Akimo, a man down on his luck even in the afterlife. Watch closely."

Hideo drew his zanpaktou and concentrated his reiryoku on the green hilt of his zanpaktou. It wasn't, however, just concentration but also a kind of resonance with the targeted soul as if the energy was reflecting off of the soul. With a fearful expression, the man closed his eyes and Hideo pressed the bottom of the hilt against the man's forehead to perform Konso. A well of energy opened up underneath him and the man was purified and accepted into the afterlife; converted to a small star of energy that floated into the night breeze and then vanished.

"Very nice very nice. Now this is Fumiko. Say hi Fumiko."

Fumiko was too scared by Hideo to really respond that that wasn't her name at all.

"Fumiko is from a well-to-do loving family and was just minding her business until that fateful car accident took everything away from her. Long has the poor innocent girl pondered deeply about why she was left all alone in the world and slowly but surely it has been sinking deeper and deeper into her heart that the world is a cold place. The more she ponders the more she aches and this innocent girl harbors such deep-seated sorrow that it is becoming her. Her chain of fate begins to break..."

The girl struggled but Hideo's zanpaktou hilt snaps into the beginning (or the end) of the chain on her chest, cracking it. Fumiko whimpered in pain at what the shinigami had just done and nervously began to crawl away but then stopped and truly began to scream in agony. Her eyes glowed white and a negative energy surged around her. In all of this time, Hideo just shook his head with sword in hand and watched. Even if a student rushed at him for his actions he would simply flash step in front of the girl.

"What makes us strong? What makes us weak? It's all much more relative than you all think but that answer is not something I seek."

He sliced the chain of fate clean off to complete the process of turning her into a hollow.

"What I wanna know is... are you the way you were meant to be?"

He said staring into the girl's eyes with a dreamy curiosity. He loved studying the fundamentals of things and the various anomalies they held that could never be completely explored or understood. He took a few steps back and raised his own reiatsu to match the forming hollow, both of them reaching a level far above the other students.

"Now normally shinigami attack from behind, but at my level there's nothing wrong with a good old flash step right through them."

 His right foot slid back and he bent forward with one hand touching the ground and the other raising his zanpaktou. The girl's screams changed tone as she began to fully complete hollowification, turning into a form that reminded one of a plant, namely a white closed venus flytrap head for a mask and slender arms, legs, and body with simple but elegant patterns lining its skin.

After the full form was complete, Hideo would cut off its existence just before it would have the chance to move. The mask would shatter as the force of his cut blew the hollow in half, with one half flying towards the students and the other half flying into the wall of a building. Hideo sheathed his zanpaktou and took a deep breath.

"That would have grown up to be a strong one, heh. Don't worry, they'll both be in Soul Society in no time. And that hopefully, will be the extent of your job as shinigami."

He opened his mouth like he was just about to ask if there were any questions when his adjutant whispered into his ear. He nodded and waved her off to go back to her post in the perimeter the squad of shinigami had staked out in the city.

"Now I'm sure you're all thinking to yourself that that was cruel and cheap and she really didn't need to become a hollow just yet. Didn't even give her time to fight and pay me back for what this horrid man has done... well I assure you that was true mercy if you know how much worse it gets if you let them enjoy a little more of their overrated time here. Just one will bring down the whoole neighborhood. No more block parties, just a run down depressed and oppressed city where you can practically feel despair in the air from the amount of souls she will consume."

He produced a small object from one of his shihakusho pockets.

"I noticed some of you were a bit wary of how dead and rather creepy this city is. Well let me demonstrate to you how you were pretty much on the mark with that. But there's a reason for it all! Come on out boys!"

He snapped the object into pieces and a rumbling could instantly be heard. The few other hollows that prowled the city in the inter-dimensional realm between the Human World and the garganta began to materialize and give away their presence, reiatsu and all, in the sky.

Hideo placed his zanpaktou on his shoulder and flash stepped onto the roof of a building and raised his sword like a true gentlemen at the high circling hollows in provocation.

"We'll make sure the strong ones don't bother you guys, but we'll let some tadpoles through for you guys to play with. I'll be back to check on any survivors! Peace!"

 The first 'tadpoles' were already starting to fly down for a dive-bomb. These were some odd looking ones too. One was a one legged and one armed hollow with an oversized claw while the other looked like an over-sized living mushroom with tentacles as its mode of transportation both at about 10 feet in height. It was nightmare fuel for close encounters to say the least. They both came straight at the students at a moderate but still intimidating pace.

Ryu was a tad bit late due to runing off looking for some hollows to kill. But when he arrived to the debriefing just to watch hideo slash the hollow mask clean off. Ryu was kinda annoyed that  Hideo show off his skills he had better be strong to protect these freshman he brought along. But even so it didn't bother him the tad bit. This  was so far was quite boring until Hideo liven it up a bit destroying what known to Ryu D. Arc as hollow bait that cause Ryu blood to boil.

Ryu had chuckle a bit his blood thirsty grin appeared on his face. As it was quickly replace with the famous Arc smirk then Hideo said,"We'll make sure the strong ones don't bother you guys, but we'll let some tadpoles through for you guys to play with. I'll be back to check on any survivors! Peace!" That was all Ryu need to hear as he watch the sky openings up with large black vortex which rip across the sky.

Three sword style three Sword Demon Technique: Ryu had unsheath his asachi, and place it in his mouth . As with his left and right hand he unshealth the remaining two kantana and place it in each hand. Ryu then crosses his two swords across his chest and places the blade in his mouth horizontally behind them. Ryu jump directly into the air using reiastu platform technique he just learn then approaches the target at high speed that he could muster. Those he just made this technique up his goal was to eliminate the one arm hollow movement which is why he aid for the hollow leg as it descend down. As Ryu past the one leg hollow he had swinging the swords across his chest, resulting in a descending diagonal-crossing slash from both swords while the mouth blade performs a horizontal cut from right. He pour his reiastu directly into each katana,and his asachi attempting to strike the hollow leg as it past him.

Ryu wasn't completely stupid after all he was giving the freshman down there to prepare for battle. Some may be scare but maybe this task would allow him to wake up a bit. Whether his blades made it target it or not matter not. Because he would swipe at anything that the hollow tried to do to stop his attempt.

Hana couldnt help but smile at his explanation. "That's quite true, but compared to everyone here, at this moment, I am probably the least prepared for what's to come." she said laughing softly. He was fairly observant and quite opinionated. Hana found those traits to be respectable, and she too hopes to be able to break away from her "lady-of-the-house" roots and characteristics. She knew if she stayed this way, she would not last inside the academy, let alone outside in the real shinigami world. She wanted to be fearless, ambitious, bold, strong, etc. Hana did not want to be seen as the delicate flower her family, her friends, and the public viewed her as. She wanted to be more than a face, and wanted to uphold more than her lineage title - but it wouldn't be a sudden change, and she knew that full well.

She then smiled at his introduction. "Pleasure is all mine Mr. Ulrich." she said giving a slight polite bow. "I am Kiyohara Hana" she said smiling. "Please take care of me." Hana was happy that she got to make a potential friend in the time that she has started the academy. She was hoping that Hurs would help guide her and teach her during her training process as a peer mentor, to kind of guide her through the ranks and strings of the academy.

The voice of Hideo disrupted her thoughts as well as their conversation. Why he was talking in rhyme she did not know, but what she did know was that he reached a new level of creepy for her. Hana watched carefully as he demonstrated how to pure the souls of those who are lost, and how to eliminate hollows. However, she did not agree with eroding away the rest of the girl's soul chain instead of purifying her before she could change into a hollow, but it was for the sake of the learning exercise. Hana took a soft breath to calm herself. It didnt matter how much she tried to rationalize or convince herself that it was "okay" because it was for learning purposes, she still felt that it was wrong, but she would not voice her opinion towards the elite shinigami.

Is that what I think that is? Hana thought softly when Hideo pulled out something small out of his pockets. Her eyes widened when she realized that she was right. He wouldnt though, would he?? And then Hideo crushed the small object. Hana cursed under her breath, "Hollow bait" she whispered gently. Hana then watched as a mass of hollows began to materialize and come right at them. Again, Hana cured under her breath, she should've not accepted this training exercise, especially because she was still new, and was a late comer, which meant she was far behind in training than the rest of the group. This is going to be... interesting she thought quietly to herself.

Hurs's frustration was growing to a painfully helpless feeling. Hideo's weasel words completely dwarfed the weird behavior of the students as it felt as if he was surfacing their paranoia into reality. He gripped the handle of his asauchi out of fear for not the hollow that was forming but for the evident sociopathic tendencies of their teacher. This man was clearly unpredictable and dangerous, the last thing Hurs wanted to deal with before he even learned the ropes.

"Ok... YO You never told us we'd have to do this!"

Hurs was already angered at unnecessarily adding a traumatic memory to a girl's life, but now he was in panic mode. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead as he felt the sudden rise in reiatsu slightly oppress his very soul as he could feel the sky opening up above him. He pulled out his sword and took off the useless sunglasses. He began to burn his reiatsu as Ryu jumped happily at two hollows falling down on them. He already knew arguing with someone like Hideo was pointless; who was he kidding, there were quite a few shinigami that acted like this. Maybe that was one of the underlying subconscious drives that led him to trying out for the academy?

He suddenly realized that Kaya and the girl he had just met didn't have asauchis of their own. What the hell were they doing here?

"Shit! Get out of here!"

he yelled at Hana and anyone who was stuck in the path of the large hollows, rooted in fear or unable to make a decision on what to do. A crowd was the worst place to be in to fight large animals, and both fear and reason told Hurs that he had to give himself some distance.

He aimed a finger at the mushroom hollow as its tentacles neared and focused his energy.

"Hado #4: Byakurai!"

He winced as the lightning erratically streaked from his finger. He hadn't completely mastered the kidou yet but the point was to slow the hollow down and give everyone time to think it out.

Hurs's next move was to jump several steps backwards and upwards into the air. Those hollows would aim straight for the crowd hoping to scoop up whoever would be caught in a panicked stampede or just unable to get out of the way. He took a deep breath and began to psyche himself into his first battle with these things, hoping that others would come to his side and not get killed down there.

Of the group of students, some were moving around in a veritable dance in the air, or even breaking things while grinning grinning from ear to ear, while others were perfectly content with conversing amicably with their fellow students. The former were testing their limits in an entirely new environment. It wasn't a bad thing. That was learning. What seemed particularly interesting was a general lack of concern coming from the majority of the students. Why were they here? While it was refreshing to feel the cool air, and to feel the night come to life with a myriad of sights and sounds, it was still unsettling. The thought was cyclical like a broken record. Those thoughts would not go away.  But, not everyone was drunk on their newfound freedom or at peace in an oddly friendly environment. A few were genuinely concerned or approached the events surrounding them with a discerning nature.

"Why are we hear?" Jack shared the same question. And test... maybe that was why. It made perfect sense. Sending a group of students to a potentially dangerous place wasn't as simple as snapping your fingers. How many steps it would take was a bit of a mystery, but it probably would involve permission from higher ups, a good deal of planning, organizing a suitable escort, opening a gate to what constituted as another world, and setting up an environment for whatever purposes. Would they go through that much effort for a field trip that let them fly? Janza didn't question that, but the question was answered within moments nonetheless.

Is capturing souls necessary with such an overwhelming difference in power? Hideo went on about what happened to souls that couldn't pass on, and those chains that held them here. People were trapped or stuck often enough. The circumstances weren't always the same, but the result was. They couldn't move. They weren't free to move. Shinigami freed those poor or lost souls that couldn't do it for themselves. Was it conceited to think that it was a noble cause? A kindness? Mercy or a gift even? Janza did not know, but he was a lost soul himself in his own way. It resonated with his broken soul. His head bowed as the man found rest.

It was a fleeting feeling. The shinigami wasn't content with guiding lost souls to their own peace. Janza's head snapped up emphatically when a fearful energy poured into the air. The bastard severed the little girl's chain so callously, ending any chance she had of a peaceful sending. Her cries of agony rolled through the streets around them, pounded in Janza's ears, and ripped at his very soul.

Something had to stop her pain. Somebody had to help her. Janza muscles tensed up, and he almost ran to the poor girl's side, but he could feel Hideo's intent. This was going to happen. All he could to was clutch his hands tightly. A guy name Hur's seemed to share his helpless disgust.

She became a hollow, and Hideo taught his lesson. Half of the mask landed in Janza's hands. Blood dripped down his fingers and past the mask to puddle at his feet. First his hands started to shake, then his arms. Soon, the rest of his body shook with a barely concealed anger. "Please don't think poorly of me Anira." Janza took one step toward Hideo. That little girl was him. He took another step. That man tortured her for study. Janza did not get the chance to take another step before everything was pulled up by it heels and dropped on their heads with the arrival of a tiny object. The psychopathic instructor had pulled bait on them. Hollows flooded the area in short order, and the coward (in a sense) vanished.

Janza looked at the retreating back of Video with pure, unadulterated killing intent. It just was not right shinigami or no.

"Weak" hollows dove toward an easy looking meal in the form of students, and Janza stood still. It wasn't out of fear, but overwhelming anger. Anger held him to that spot. He knew he needed to keep his reiatsu in check. But he found it nearly impossible. Only after Hurs tried blasting one of the hollows with energy did Janza move.  After all, how could he pass up this opportunity?

Janza dropped low as he ran at the tentacled nightmare, pulling out his concealed asauchi and bokken. He held both weapons out to his right while simultaneously dropping his spiritual presence as much as possible right before he swung at the side of the mushroom hollow. The bokken crashed down on the hollow in an attempt to hold the creature at bay. No energy came with that strike. But the one from the metal blade... Janza pushed reiatsu into the asauchi and gathered reishi/reiryoku? particles to the point of the blade, as it trusted right by to wooden weapon, right before it made contact.

Kaya couldn't beliee his eyes, how did things go to hell so quickly, it seemed no matter what situation he was in things never went smooth for long. Kaya had heard much about hollows in the academy and from a few of the thugs in the district he grew up in, but this was his first time actually seeing one, or two for that matter. After hearing Hurs yell Kaya snapped out of it and decided to do what he did best. Run.

"Hurs lets get the hell outta here! I didn't sign up for this shit, well not yet anyway!"

With that Kaya jumped the air placed his feet firmly on spirit particles and dashed away. Fortunately being the air made it easier to cover more ground, he continued to dash forward and ran until he found an alleyway to hide in. Being courageous was one thing but suicide was not Kaya's style. As much as he wanted to it was probably impossible for him to help the other students as he himself was as a student there wasn't much he could do. On the bright side however, that fool Ryu D Arc and the Janza guy seemed to be fine with the idea of dying before becoming Shinigami, giving the others time to run away as well. Plus Hurs had fired that kidou, which wasn't bad thinking for him. Kaya felt bad but there was no way he was gonna die for the sake of people he didn't even know.

(Hollow with the claw)

  The hollow kicked its leg back as Ryu charged at him gung-ho. The leg lifted up, not because it was avoiding Ryu's attack but because it added strength to what was coming. The claw closed into a fist that picked up air friction from the sheer amount of force that was behind it. The hollow pushed off with extra speed and would punch straight into Ryu. The force would land the punch straight into his jaw. Even if blocked, the swords would not even be able to pierce the hollow's skin. Ryu had to make a decision and that was what kind of damage he would take in order to continue this fight. He could get his jaw busted in, block with arms that could be broken, or turn away and accept damage to the ribs which would be the fist's changed direction if he chose to dodge. Either way, if he didn't get out of the trajectory that the attack would send him flying, the hollow would punch him once he crashed into the ground in an attempt to crush him into a large puree of flesh and bones.

(Hollow with tentacles)

  The hollow with tentacles laughed at the innocents left on the ground for him to feed on, but was suddenly interrupted by Hurs's kidou. It began scooping up various students, but realized it had to deal with one gutsy student aiming his swords for his head. It dropped a few students and then focused on Janza, amazed that he would so willingly rush onto its dinner plate. It realized that the wooden blade, for whatever reason the student was using it for would be harmless, so while Janza was trying to distract it with that, it would grab his foot and begin spinning him around in a turning motion like a madman cranking a handle trying to break his leg off. This would actually begin to have the force that would seriously injure his leg and also interrupt his second attack. Someone would have to cut off the tentacle, Janza or one of his compatriots, in order to release its grip.

As it was busy with one little student, it would sneak a grab at Hana and Pluto's feet for snacks as it entertained itself. All the while a flying hollow descended and impaled students on its sharp legs and then returned to the air, deciding to quickly take a few pickings from the slow ones that had just turned up.


(Kaya)

   As Kaya fleed the scene, he would notice a hollow swooping around the general vicinity of the city. Hideo chuckled and gave orders to leave those kinds alone, impressed by both the strategies of running away and jumping straight into the fray that the students were exhibiting. Unfortunately, even those who were great at survival in the jungle weren't guaranteed success. As Kaya caught his breath in an alley, he would be stalked by an insect-like flying creature, that most closely resembled a moth. Its wings were translucent and it was fast so neither moonlight or a quick glance into the sky would reveal its presence just yet.


(Anira)

A giant fat hollow in the distance turned its head and stopped, staring at the lone girl sitting in the street. Slowly but surely, it stepped its 50 foot frame down the street, its weight making the ground shake with each step. It was most interested in a shinigami meal, but since it was being left out of the action like Anira, it seemed that she would have to do.  As it neared her position, it would open its mask and fire a high velocity single projectile of dark-green goo at the girl. The acid would burn at the touch if she did not avoid it.

Hana's eyes widened when the count of hollows appearing and attacking were increasing by the minute. To say she was terrified was an understatement. This was nothing compared to her kidnappers when she was eighteen years old. At that time, she was calm and collected, now she was panicked and her heart was racing and she was starting to sweat slightly in nervousness.

She heard Hur's warning to get out of the area and to hide and stay safe. Hana was somewhat frozen in place, not sure what to do. She couldn't use kido since she was not trained, and she did not even close to having an asauchi yet, she just had her practice sword that they gave her the day she entered the academy. Before Hana could get a chance to use the skill they just learned, or to use her own feet to flee, a hollow's tenticle was heading towards her. If Hana was not already looking at the ground, she would not have seen the tenticle.

Hana gasped softly and jumped back, landing on spirit particles to dodge the tentacle. She had to snap out of it. This was literally life or death for her. She refused to die practically days after her entrance into the academy. There was so much she wanted to do, so much she had planned to accomplish. Her family was expecting her to come home for the next holiday, heck, they were expecting her to send a letter within the next week or so, after she settled down. She cant die. She cant give up. She had to live, and thats what she planned to do.

Hurs watched as his mind turned those he had just met into meaningless victims that he had no connection with. These hollows were 'weak ones'? That had to be another scumbag joke from Hideo who was proving himself to be more and more of a despicable punk without even being in the current vicinity. Hurs gripped his asauchi with a cold sweat wishing he was some kind of hero, but the courage just wasn't welling up. The situation was too raw and sudden for him to even think about charging in. He saw Hana, the person he was just talking to, jump back in fear at a tentacle. The speed and ferocity of these attacks, however, forced Hurs to give way to the suggestion to escape a terrible death.

"Tactical retreat!"

he yelled.

He dropped from the air down into the street and made a run for it, pushing himself to keep up with Kaya. He jumped over traffic and was somewhat re-assured and soothed by the colorful lights of whatever district they were in as well as the fact that civilization was still intact despite the monsters hovering around.

"Kaya, I think we lost em! Slow down already!"

He looked around and still felt an eerie presence in the air, not sure if it was actually safe but his conscience was seriously trying to get Kaya to slow down and think of some plan to make up for the fact they had just ran away.

For the most part, he felt saving his skin was the right thing to do but he still couldn't shake off having just meant two new people and leaving them behind. Speaking of people he knew, didn't Jack come on the mission as well?

"That drunk made himself scarce even before this all happened. I'm sure he's fine."

As the hollow aim his punch at Ryu couldn't help but have a flash back. For that split second ,and half it would determine Ryu will power. Form the very beginning of this exercise everyone seems to be excited. Eager to be a shingami at training most was silent the other seems blood thirsty .

Ryu was happy to be with a group of shingami like this one. Those he wasn't strong enough to protect everyone he had swear on his clan. An his clan word was his bond he knew if he allow this hollow to pass him. Then rest of the shingami students would die. A single tear fall from his cheek as the flash back ended. It was now time to accept his punishment .

Ryu had finally decide it . The hollow punch connected to Ryu jaw. Which had send him flying back heading directly for the ground but before he was send flying back. The Ryu had gathers high-density spiritual energy, at the tip of his right index finger. Ryu had generates a concentrated ball then it shoot out his index finger into a bolt of lighting heading directly for the Hollow mask.
Ryu had said," Hadō #4. Byakurai!" Lucky Ryu had trained this ability in both class environment and sparring conflict. Therefore his use of this skill was a bit better then most shingami .

Ryu left hand katana slam directly into the ground as the reaistu platform begin to break. Due to the sheer force of the hollow attack Ryu hope to break his fall using his a single katana . Once his right hand was free he would slam the other katana into the ground(Platform) hoping to break his fall,and halt him progress.

If all would go well Ryu would find himself in a bad condition his jaw was completely swollen with black and blue bruise along his face.Both his arms would be in pain due to griping the hilt so hard trying to prevent himself from crashing into the ground. His asachi which was still in his mouth as Ryu glare at the hollow who now attempting to crush him. He was about 30 feet from the ground... Ryu said," I will bring you down . No matter the cost believe it!"

Blood had fall from his lips due to the hollow strong skin. It had cut Ryu lip a bit Ryu awaited to see if his attempt was successful.

{Ryu D}

The brave and equally foolish Shinigami was the first one to charge in, and he will sooner or later meet a most horrible fate. One had begun to wonder what it was that drove the Shinigami to attack in this manner. What was the main driving force behind this brave act? Could it be that the triple sword wielding and dealing Shinigami sought acknowledgement from his peers? He was most certainly desperate, but the Hollow could not ask his reasons. The beast that appeared from the air gate now charging at the man shrieked with glee. The cries of a Hollow can sometimes be most eerie. But this time the Hollow's cry wasn't to unnerve the puny Shinigami. It was a show of its excitement, as it figuratively licked its lips, and cleaned its teeth before chowing down on the soon to be easy meal. Ryu was now prey being stalked and he didn't even know it. Maybe the wannabe Shinigami didn't even understand what was happening?

Whatever the case, the Hollow and Ryu felt a certain bestial connection between each other. That glimmer of a tear resonated with the Hollow that had lost its name so long ago. Sheng he was known as before his current disposition as a rampaging creature. It is a name that Sheng himself doesn't even remember, let alone be able to relay to anyone. There was a longing within the Hollow. And this longing simply turned into an insatiable appetitie to feast on souls. A Shinigami's soul was often the delight of the day, considering it was more of a price. Sheng, the Hollow with one clawed hand, another of normal proportions and one leg had his clawed hand pushing towards the face of Ryu D Arc. But before the punch could even land, Ryu was had other plans of his own. A small ball of light manifested on the finger tip of the blonde.

Sheng's instincts kicked in, forcing him to raise his hand that was normal compared to its clawed other half. Said hand rose and hid the mask of the hollow in a protective manner. The punch connected as intended, meanwhile Ryu's Kido shot forth and collided with the hand. But the Shinigami didn't have enough power to penetrate the creature's hide. It may be a lower level Hollow, but that didn't mean a student was going to have its way with the creature. This wasn't going to be easy. Ryu was sent flying, meanwhile Sheng used his momentum to land on the side of a building. Using it as a kind of spring board, before performing a side ways sommersault that seemed most irregular and yet unique. Sheng landed on the ground down below, now sizing up a Ryu that was a mere fifteen meters from him. The punch that was landed on Ryu was a mean blow, one designed to rock the man more than a little.

The Hollow roared in furious anger before crouching in a prowling manner. He was stalking, meanwhile sizing up his prey. His one leg was on the ready, while his hand and claw acted as propellers. The creature soon inhaled, and then released a a roar that was a shock wave. The blast traveled rapidly to Ryu's position, shattering the glass windows. The shock wave was designed to blow the man back, causing some blunt force damage. It was wide spread, but if anyone had bothered to take notice of the Hollow, it wasn't without limits. Sheng had begun to huff, while moving forward with its claw at the ready. This was going to be a good one.

{Hurs and Kaya}

The night air felt good on the face of the Hollow flying above, flashing by swiftly as its wings were fully expanded. The Hollow glided through the night sky over buildings, watching the two that made a run for it. The moth looking Hollow also possessed a vicious tail that was quite long. The creature landed on a building, meanwhile Kaya and Hurs below, before taking off into the night skies. However, it didn't leave silently, as bricks that crumbled under the weight of the creature fell down below. This debris was designed to clatter both Hurs and Kaya down below. But that was far from what the creature actually had planned for them. The winged Hollow had once again vanished into the night skies, stalking its prey, while allowing its shadow to reflect down below after putting the moonlight to good use.

But with every flap of its wings, the Hollows released a fine powdery substance, moth dust maybe. It would trickle down filling the air, while showering down on Hurs and Kaya's position. The creature was clever, actively backing them into a corner without them even noticing. Soon enough the Hollow went into a wicked dive, like a hawk stalking its prey. It swooped down as if aiming to pluck Hurs and Kaya from their position. The Hollow approached from behind flying flow, before its entire body began to manifest. Its jaws opened wide, before a violent screech could be heard which announced its presence fully. Its nasty Reiatsu felt sickening, as it flew just above Kaya's and Hurs' head. They might just think they escaped without a scratch or no attack being attempted on them. But that same moth dust was spreading through the area. Meanwhile its long and wicked tailed was used as a whip, striking at both Hurs and Kaya's mid section.

The power from the Hollow's tail will see both males sent flying with a nasty bruise and pain in the stomach area. The creature having accomplished its task climbed the night skies, now hoovering in the area, its wings flapping, creating a threshing sound as it flapped. Yellow eyes of death stared down on Hurs and Kaya, now ready to do combat. Then again, it wasn't about combat. This was about softening up the Shinigami enough to be able to turn them into a meal.

Kaya caught his breath in the dark alleyway after letting Hurs catch his breath.

"Oh its you.  Well I guess that's good you didn't get killed yet, you're the one with the sword after all so I guess it's best to stick with you till this is over."

Kaya had a bit of a smirk on his face, he couldn't believe that Hurs showing up was actually a good thing for once.  If that much was possible they might be able to get out of this with their lives, hopefully.  Kaya thought he saw something flying from the corner of his eye but as soon as he looked completely there was nothing there.  It was then that he heard an ear piercing screech.

"You've gotta be kidding me...."

Kaya immediately put his guard up but at the exact moment he was ready to defend himself the hollow swung it's tail towards his stomach. To lessen the damage Kaya backed up a little, however this didnt do much for him. The pain was unlike anything he had ever felt before and it laid him out on the street coughing with blurry vision

"W-what the hell?"

Hana was doing fine. She was planning on dodging all the attacks and using things around her as weapons since she did not obtain an asuchi yet. After dodging a tentacle, a girl approached Hana and told her to be cautious and to not clump together with others. Hana looked around and saw that no one was that close to her after Hurs ran off. She sighed softly trying to calm herself from being unlady like or rude.

She concentrated on the tentacles and the opposing Hollow. She would just have to dodge and use basic hand to hand that she had been taught before she started to attend the academy. Hana was managing well for a complete beginner and for someone who didnt and now cant really escape and hide.

Suddenly, a very tall man approached Hana. He looked to be above six feet, and a giant compared to her 5'2" stature. She didn't really like the vibes she was receiving from him but continued to be polite. She took a small breathe to calm herself. She was close to rebelling and yell at the man she just met for looking down on her and treating her like a damsel in distress. "Pleasure to meet you Pluto-sama." she said politely. "I'm Hana, and no I do not have any experience with kido, and I do not have an asuchi." she said quietly folding her arms.

Well... she tried to be polite and lady-like, but if that was going to make her seem weak and make others see her as a useless child, then it couldn't be helped if she showed a little defiance. "We don't have to stick together... I wouldn't want to burden a stranger" she said with a slight edge to her voice, while giving him a slight glare. "I can handle myself. I'm not completely hopeless...." she muttered to herself.

Afterwards, she glanced over at the hollow, examining it, and then took in her surroundings before looking back at the hollow, being more aware of her surroundings, and being cautious and observant of the enemy.
